Next Stop - Supreme Court of Canada
The battle at the provincial level was lost but we are now waiting for the Supreme Court of Canada to decide the fate of our pension.
On August 22, 2004, papers were filed with the Supreme Court of Canada which states:
Docket
30487
David James Sneddon, et al.
v.
British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority, et al.
(B.C.) (Civil) (By Leave)
The total cost of the trails at both the BC Supreme Court and BC Court of Appeals has been approximately $45,000 – filing papers with the Supreme Court of Canada and the trial (if heard) will cost approximately $35,000 – the Supreme Court of Canada can take up to six months to confirm if they will hear the case.
Our lawyers Laxton & Co. figure we have an excellent case or they would not have proceeded to the Supreme Court of Canada. At the present time Laxton & Co. have spent approximately TWO MILLION dollars of their own money, thus you can see the reason for continuing the action at the Supreme Court of Canada.
